Tsuyu: Shizuka-ni

The Japanese word for the rainy season is Tsuyu
Shizuka-ni
means quietness.




These symbols are Mons.
A mon is a Japanese family crest.

The first mon is one of a raft.
This motifi is hand-painted repeatedly throughout the umbrella as a pattern
.



The second mon is one of a water lily.
This motif is hand-painted repeatedly on top of the kimono as an accent design
.




The last mon is one of fish scales.
This motif is hand-painted repeatedly throughout the kimono as a pattern
.

The rainy season is the perfect time to release her secret. Walking in the rain, she allows the drops to fall onto her garment. At this moment, the kimono comes to life with koi playfully swimming all throughout the fabric.
To not disturb or frighten these fish, she quietly watches.
