The Japanese word for spring is Haru.
Hana
means flower.

This symbol is a Mon.
A mon is a Japanese family crest.
This particular mon is one of an orchid.
This motif is hand-painted repeatedly throughout the kimono as a pattern
.

From the scent of a single orchid comes the dream of a million springs.
Her eyes close gently over the passing of her childhood, and she breathes in deeply the fragrant blossom of her womanhood and new beginnings.
